Yonkers, N.Y. — Marx Realty is underway on the construction of a two-building, 58,000-square-foot retail expansion at Cross County Center, a 1.2 million-square-foot lifestyle center located in Yonkers, just north of New York City. The first building will comprise 14,000 square feet across a single floor and the second building will span 44,000 square feet across two floors. Marx Realty will also develop a 4-acre park, which will accommodate farmers’ markets and SummerFest events, as well as wellness and seasonal programming. Meanwhile, an adjacent boardwalk will offer café-style seating and shaded umbrella areas. This space will serve as the new “front door” to Cross County Center and will feature additional signage to welcome visitors.
Cross County Center originally housed 30 stores at its opening in 1954, but is now home to more than 100 retail, dining, educational and entertainment outparcels across several buildings. Tenants include Champs Sports, Bath & Body Works, Chase Bank, Crocs, Foot Locker, Garage, Gap, Guess, H&M, Hollister and Kay Jewelers.
