Mid-America Closes $48.3 Million Sale of Grocery-Anchored Center in Metro Chicago

Wilmette, Ill. — Mid-America Real Estate Corp. has arranged the sale of Plaza Del Lago, a 100,213-square-foot shopping center in Wilmette, a city 20 miles north of Chicago.

Ben Wineman, Stan Nitzberg and Chris Martin of Mid-America arranged the transaction on behalf of the seller. Other terms of the transaction were not disclosed, but Crain’s Chicago Business reports Retail Properties of America acquired the asset from the Moss family for $48.3 million. The Moss family had owned the property since 1971. Plaza del Lago is home to tenants including Jewel-Osco, Starbucks Coffee, CVS/pharmacy and NorthShore University HealthSystem.
