Weymouth, Mass. — A joint venture between New York City-based Brookfield Properties and Boston-based New England Development has purchased the site of the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station in metro Boston. The co-developers acquired the 1,400-acre site from Washington Capital Management for $65 million. Brookfield and New England Development are planning a mixed-use redevelopment that would include 6,500 housing units, along with about 2 million square feet of commercial and retail space. Firestone, Colo. — The Staenberg Group (TSG) has announced that Target will open a new 128,000-square-foot store that will anchor Firestone City Centre, a 140-acre mixed-use development located in Firestone, roughly 30 miles north of Denver. The new store is scheduled to debut this month. Irvine, Calif. — Club Pilates has signed a franchise agreement with entrepreneur Saber Ammori to develop 70 new units across three states including Michigan, Maryland and New York. Ammori already owns and operates 14 Club Pilates studios in the New York City area. Glendale, Calif. — RDC, in collaboration with high-end grocery chain Erewhon, has redeveloped a former Virgil’s Hardware building in Glendale. Situated at 520 North Glendale Ave., the historic 24,900-square-foot building was originally developed in the 1970s and has been vacant for more than five years. The redevelopment has transformed the hardware store into a 14,900-square-foot Erewhon grocery store that comprises 5,000 square feet of mezzanine space, along with 4,000 square feet of additional ground-floor tenant space. Erewhon acquired the property in 2024.

Chicago — Zaxby’s has signed a franchise agreement with a local entrepreneur to open seven new restaurants in Chicago. The development plans follow a separate multi-unit agreement signed in Chicagoland in 2025, along with the first restaurant in Plainfield, Illinois, earlier this year.
