Ferber to Acquire Vacant Building in Downtown Jacksonville, Announces Initial Tenant Lineup
Jacksonville, Fla. — The Ferber Co. has entered into a contract to acquire Brooklyn Place, a vacant building that sits on 1.5 acres in downtown Jacksonville. The initial tenant lineup at the 11,500-square-foot site includes Panera Bread and Bento Asian Kitchen + Sushi. There is a 1,520-square-foot space available. Ferber expects the land acquisition to close this summer and will begin construction immediately after. Completion is scheduled for summer 2020. A sales price and seller for the land acquisition were not disclosed.
Jacksonville, Fla. — Lote Group will renovate the Shoppes of Northshore, a 17,000-square-foot shopping center in Jacksonville’s Atlantic Beach submarket. The renovations are expected to include giving the center a modern look while preserving the beach-style architecture of the area. Renovations are expected to be complete by the end of this year. New York City — Restaurateur Todd Leong, owner of Lucky Rice as well as Leaf Bar & Lounge, will open The Beer Assembly, a 3,550-square-foot beer garden at Tangram. The 1.2 million-square-foot mixed-use development is located in Flushing. Developed by F&T Group and Shanghai Construction Group (SCG), Tangram features residential, office, retail and hospitality uses, including a 24,000-square-foot food hall that will be positioned adjacent to the beer garden. The opening is slated for early 2020.
American Real Estate Partners Unveils $35 Million Redevelopment Plan for Rosslyn Metro Center in Arlington
Arlington, Va. — American Real Estate Partners (AREP) has unveiled its plans to redevelop and rebrand the Rosslyn Metro Center in Arlington’s Rosslyn neighborhood. AREP began the $35 million project earlier this month. Rosslyn City Center is a 62,000-square-foot former mall located directly above the Rosslyn Metro Station. Completion is scheduled for third-quarter 2020. Rosslyn City Center is located at 1700 N. Moore St., three miles east of downtown Arlington and less than five miles from Amazon’s HQ2 campus. Ruston, La. — Hutton has opened Ruston Marketplace, a 103,413-square-foot shopping center in Ruston. The property’s tenants include Hobby Lobby, T.J. Maxx, Ulta Beauty, Five Below and Rack Room Shoes. Ruston Marketplace is situated off of Interstate 20, one mile from Louisiana Tech University. Hutton partnered with the City of Ruston to deliver the project. According to multiple media outlets, the City of Ruston paid $6.4 million to improve the infrastructure around the shopping center to make it more accessible to shoppers.
New York City — Cornell Realty Management has topped out 200 Kent Avenue, a 72,000-square-foot retail and office building located in the Williamsburg area of Brooklyn. The property spans 50,000 square feet of retail space that will be anchored by a Trader Joe’s, 22,000 square feet of office and restaurant space and 45,000 square feet of parking. Manhattan-based Madison Realty Capital originally provided a $64 million construction loan for the project in November 2017, and Bluestone Group recently provided $8 million in mezzanine debt to finance additional capital expenditures.
South Fulton, Ga. — Adams & Co. Real Estate Inc. will break ground on a 48,387-square-foot Publix this fall within its Sandtown Crossing mixed-use project in the city of South Fulton. The new Publix will be flanked by two 8,200-square-foot buildings and is scheduled to open in fall 2020. The grocer will join a CVS/pharmacy, 15,000 square feet of retail space and 18,000 square feet of office space. Sandtown Crossing is situated on the corner of Camp Creek Parkway and Campbellton Road, 15 miles west of downtown Atlanta.

Denver — A joint venture between Evergreen Devco and City Street Investors has broken ground on The Shops at Beeler Park, located at the northwest corner of 56th Avenue and Central Park Boulevard in Denver’s Stapleton neighborhood. Situated on 6.8 acres, The Shops at Beeler Park will feature two multi-tenant buildings and five single-tenant buildings offering a total of 16,500 square feet of retail space.
