Plano, Texas — Cinépolis USA will open a 10-screen, 40,000-square-foot theater at The Shops at Willow Bend in Plano as part of owner Starwood Retail Partners’ $145 million project to expand and renovate the mall. The theater, which joins entertainment concepts like Crayola Experience and the North Texas Performing Arts Children’s Theatre, will be directly integrated into the mall and will offer a variety of food and beverage options. The venue, which is scheduled to open in 2020, will be Cinépolis’ third in Texas.

Greenberg Gibbons, Seritage Growth Partner for $150 Million Redevelopment Project at Metro Baltimore Mall
Cockeysville, Md. — Greenberg Gibbons has formed a joint venture with Seritage Growth Properties to redevelop a 13.8-acre parcel at Hunt Valley Towne Center in Cockeysville, Maryland. Greenberg Gibbons owns the property, a mixed-use shopping center situated at 118 Shawan Road, 18 miles north of downtown Baltimore. Grayslake, Ill. — The Woodmont Company has unveiled plans to develop a 15,000-square-foot retail center in Grayslake, located 50 miles north of downtown Chicago. Known as Washington & Barron Commons, the four-building property will be situated at the corner of Washington Street and Barron Boulevard. Construction on Phase I is expected to begin this summer. Springfield, Va. — Federal Realty Investment Trust has unveiled plans to redevelop Old Keene Mill, a 90,000-square-foot shopping center in Springfield, Virginia. Whole Foods Market, Planet Fitness and Walgreens anchor the center, which is situated at the corner of Old Keene Mill and Rolling roads 16 miles southwest of downtown Washington, D.C. Redevelopment plans include the addition of an outdoor fireplace, communal village design, new landscapes, wide sidewalks and new façade and signage. Completion is expected before Thanksgiving.
McKinney, Texas — Cinemark Holdings Inc. has opened a 14-screen theater at the intersection of U.S. Highway 380 and Hardin Boulevard in the northern Dallas suburb of McKinney. The freestanding venue features wall-to-wall screens, oversized recliners with footrests, an arcade and a variety of food and beverage options. The theater is Cinemark’s 27th in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Lexington, S.C. — Publix Super Markets Inc. will open a GreenWise Market store at Lexington Marketplace in Lexington, 10 miles west of downtown Columbia. GreenWise will offer a large variety of organic, specialty and traditional items. GreenWise joins Ulta Beauty, Mod Pizza, Smoothie King and Fit Body Boot Camp at the 135,000-square-foot, 80 percent-leased retail center. Marietta, Ga. — Marietta Square Market, an 18,500-square-foot food hall, has opened at 68 N. Marietta Parkway NW in the Historic Marietta Square District. Concordia Properties LLC and Creative Culinary Ventures LLC developed the asset, which is located adjacent to historic railroad tracks, to resemble a turn-of-the-century train station. Marietta Square Market offers a central bar, indoor and outdoor seating and 20 vendors. Kelly Wilson of Ackerman Retail is handling leasing efforts for Marietta Square Market.
Montclair, N.J. — The Hampshire Cos., along with joint venture partner Pinnacle Cos., have announced plans to redevelop Lackawanna Plaza in Montclair. The planned 216,772-square-foot mixed-use redevelopment is expected to revitalize the complex through the development of a range of modern retail, office and residential spaces while preserving historical elements of the station.
