Orlando, Sarasota and Tampa, Fla. — Beverage concept Sip Fresh has signed a franchise deal for the development of three new stores in Florida. Franchisee Ryan McGrail will own and operate the stores, which will be located in Orlando, Sarasota and Tampa. Sip Fresh also recently signed multi-unit deals throughout California.

Pittsburgh — PNC Bank plans to invest approximately $1 billion to open more than 100 new branches and renovate 1,200 existing locations by 2028. Expansion plans call for new locations in key cities such as Austin, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Miami and San Antonio, among others, to establish a coast-to-coast network. According to PNC Bank, the goal of the renovations is to create a better customer experience when conducting transactions or meeting with bankers to discuss financial goals. Bala Cynwyd, Pa. — Federal Realty Investment Trust has announced plans to redevelop a building within Bala Cynwyd on City Avenue, a shopping center located in Bala Cynwyd. Formerly occupied by retailer Lord & Taylor, the building will feature 217 residential units above 16,000 square feet of retail space. Including this redevelopment, Federal Realty’s investment in the shopping center will total roughly $170 million, with 190,000 square feet of retail space. Fayetteville, Ark. — Arkansas-based Slim Chickens has signed a franchise deal for seven new restaurants in the state of Maryland. Franchisee DDR Holdings, a venture between Darrin and Dennis Atlas, will open the units. DDR Holdings currently owns and operates two Slim Chickens stores in the state. The Slim Chickens brand has opened in more than 255 locations across the U.S. and the U.K., with more than 1,200 stores currently in development.

Allen, Texas — Eatertainment concept Chicken N Pickle has broken ground on a new venue at The Farm in Allen, a 135-acre mixed-use project located in the Dallas suburb of Allen. Upon completion, the facility will comprise 43,000 square feet and feature indoor and outdoor pickleball courts, lawn games and a full-service restaurant. The opening is scheduled for early 2025. Other entertainment tenants at The Farm, which is being developed by JaRyCo, include High 5 and The Hub.

Lancaster, Ky. — Spirits company Staghorn is underway on the development of its first distillery, which will be situated on a 210-acre site in Lancaster, roughly 40 miles south of Lexington.  Dubbed Garrard County Distilling Co., the $250 million project will feature a 50,000-square-foot distillery, as well as two rickhouses and a visitor center with a tasting room and restaurant, with plans for up to 24 aging warehouses by 2030. The distillery is expected to create more than 60 permanent jobs and produce up to 150,000 barrels of bourbon each year.

Huntsville, Ala. — A joint venture between Essex Capital and Ascend Property Group has broken ground on Front Row, an 11-acre, mixed-use project in downtown Huntsville. The $220 million first phase of Front Row is now underway, following news last week that Banco Inbursa and a group led by Keel Point and Opportunity Alabama provided $115 million in construction financing.
