Detroit — Immersive entertainment concept Cosm has signed on as the anchor tenant at Development at Cadillac Square, a 1.5 million-square-foot mixed-use project scheduled to break ground in Detroit in 2025. Cosm Detroit will feature an LED dome spanning roughly 90 feet with Shared Reality technology, offering experiential sports and entertainment programming. Retail Connection Breaks Ground on 150,000-Square-Foot Shopping Center in Metro Austin

Manor, Texas — The Retail Connection, through its affiliate Connected Development Services, has broken ground on a 150,000-square-foot shopping center in Manor, roughly 15 miles outside Austin. Dubbed Manor Crossing, the center will be situated within a 63-acre site that will also house a 101,000-square-foot H-E-B grocery store. The property will comprise four buildings on 18 acres. Vestar Underway on $3 Million Renovation Project at District at Green Valley Ranch in Metro Las Vegas

Henderson, Nev. — Vestar is underway on a $3 million renovation project at The District at Green Valley Ranch, a 385,000-square-foot retail development located in Henderson, roughly 15 miles outside Las Vegas. Scheduled for completion in early 2025, the project includes updates to exteriors, signage, lighting, landscaping and outdoor furniture. Additionally, the project will add 14,300 square feet of new space to the property. New tenants Flower Child and North Italia have also signed leases at the development and are scheduled to open this November.

Katz’s Deli Signs 6,300-Square-Foot Lease in Houston

Houston — Katz’s Deli, a 24-hour restaurant concept, has signed a 6,300-square-foot lease in Houston. Construction on the new restaurant, which will be situated within the Memorial City mixed-use development, is scheduled to begin in early 2025. Delivery of the development is expected by early 2026. MetroNational owns and manages Memorial City. Balfour Beatty Breaks Ground on $95 Million Mixed-Use Project in Dallas

Dallas — Balfour Beatty has broken ground on a $95 million mixed-use project in Dallas. Balfour Beatty is constructing the project on behalf of the owners and developers, Acadia Realty Trust and Ignite-Rebees. Upon completion, which is scheduled for fall 2026, the development will total 161,00 square feet. Architecture firm GFF designed the property, which will feature 12,000 square feet of restaurant space and 75,000 square feet of retail space, as well as 74,000 square feet of office space and 500 parking spaces.

Tempe, Ariz. — Thompson Thrift has announced plans to develop South Tempe Square, a 27,119-square-foot retail center, roughly 10 miles outside Phoenix in Tempe. The developer purchased a 3.7-acre site for the project and is scheduled to break ground in the first quarter of 2025. Upon completion, which is scheduled for early 2026, the center will feature four buildings ranging in size from 4,500 to 9,753 square feet.

GBT Realty Underway on 50,632-Square-Foot Shopping Center in Dallas-Fort Worth Metro

Burleson, Texas — GBT Realty Corp. is underway on the development of Burleson Commons, a 50,632-square-foot shopping center in Burleson, approximately 15 miles south of Fort Worth. GBT acquired the six-acre land parcel for the project for $2.3 million from Orscheln Farm and Home in August. A 23,256-square-foot Sprouts Farmers Market will anchor the center, which will also feature a 9,000-square-foot Five Below and an additional 8,000 square feet of small shop space. PRCP Receives Rezoning Approval for Queen Ka’ahumanu Center in Maui

Maui, Hawaii — Pacific Retail Capital Partners (PRCP) has received approval from the Maui County Council for its rezoning application for Queen Ka’ahumanu Center, which was submitted on behalf of the property ownership. PRCP is the property manager for the shopping center, which totals 570,000 square feet of gross leasable space. PRCP submitted the rezoning application in conjunction with LNR, the CMBS special service for the ownership. The undisclosed owners plan to transform the property into a mixed-use development.

City of New Rochelle in New York Unveils Downtown Retail Strategy

New Rochelle, N.Y. — The City of New Rochelle has unveiled new plans to advance retail, marking the latest phase in the mixed-use transformation of the city’s downtown. Redevelopment efforts are currently underway and have included $2.2 billion in private investment.
