ShopRite Opens 70,000-Square-Foot Grocery Store at The Boulevard on Staten Island

New York City — ShopRite has opened a 70,000-square-foot grocery store at The Boulevard, a $200 million retail redevelopment project on Staten Island. Kimco Realty Corp. is leading the redevelopment of the 400,000-square-foot, open-air center, which will add retailers such as Marshalls, Ulta and PetSmart to its roster in 2021. The new ShopRite features specialty prepared foods from Valducci’s pizza, Loon Chuan Asian cuisine, Saladworks, Juice Press and Dunkin’ coffee, as well as onsite access to a registered dietitian and beauty consultant.

Colliers Negotiates $3.8 Million Sale of Grocery-Anchored Retail Property in Metro Atlanta

Stone Mountain, Ga. — Colliers International has negotiated the $3.8 million sale of Indian Creek Crossing, a 63,650-square-foot, grocery-anchored shopping center in Stone Mountain. Food Depot anchors the center, which was 88 percent leased at the time of sale to tenants including Family Dollar and local retailers. Indian Creek Crossing is situated at 4100 Redan Road, 11 miles east of downtown Atlanta. Joe Montgomery and Tony D’Ambrosio of Colliers represented the seller, Tarrytown, N.Y.-based DLC Management. Jacksonville Beach, Fla. — Whole Foods Market will open a 40,000-square-foot store in Jacksonville Beach on Oct. 7. The new grocery store will anchor Pablo Plaza, a 156,755-square-foot shopping center located at 1822 S. Third St., 22 miles east of downtown Jacksonville. Tysons, Va. — Wegmans is slated to open an 80,000-square-foot store in Tysons on Nov. 4. Wegmans Tysons will feature a café with indoor/outdoor seating and The Burger Bar. The store will be located along the McLean Silver Line Metro stop at 1835 Capital One Drive S., 12 miles west of downtown Washington, D.C. Kroger’s Digital Sales Surge 127 Percent in Second Quarter

Cincinnati — The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) has reported that its digital sales surged 127 percent in the second quarter, which ended Aug. 15. Consumers have been buying more groceries online as a result of the coronavirus. “Investments made to expand the company’s digital ecosystem are resonating well with customers,” says Rodney McMullen, chairman and CEO. Cary, N.C. — JLL has arranged the $34.9 million sale of Wegmans West Cary, a 103,000-square-foot building in Cary fully leased to New York-based supermarket chain Wegmans. The seller, Leyland Twin Lakes LLC, an affiliate of LeylandAlliance, delivered the asset earlier this year.
