Manhattan Beach, Calif. — Jewelry retailer gorjana is joining the tenant lineup at Manhattan Village, a 44-acre mixed-use property located at 3200 Sepulveda Blvd. in Manhattan Beach. Following its $250 million redevelopment, which is slated for completion this year, Manhattan Village will feature 648,000 square feet of shopping and dining space. The gorjana jewelry brand offers both casual and fine jewelry that is meant for layering. Other recently announced tenants joining the center’s lineup include Faherty, Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters.
New York City — Target is set to open a 90,000-square-foot store at Kings Plaza, an enclosed shopping mall owned by Macerich in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. J.C. Penney formerly occupied the three-level space. A timeline for opening was undisclosed. Tenants at Kings Plaza include Primark, Burlington, Zara, Macy’s, Michael Kors, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Megumi of Japan, Sbarro and Yong Kang Street.
New York City — Bathhouse has signed a 34,328-square-foot lease at 7 West 21st St. in Manhattan’s Flatiron District. The location within Friedland Properties’ 289,809-square-foot residential building will be the company’s first in Manhattan to accompany its space in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg area. Jason Pruger and Lucas Kooyman of Newmark represented Friedland Properties in the lease negotiations. Ross Eisenberg of RDE Advisors Inc. represented Bathhouse.
New Caney, Texas — Target will open a 136,000-square-foot store at Valley Ranch Town Center, a 240-acre mixed-use development located in the northeastern Houston suburb of New Caney. The Minneapolis-based retailer joins a tenant roster that includes Kroger, Burlington, Academy Sports + Outdoors, T.J. Maxx, Hobby Lobby and Cinemark Theatres. Karla Smith of SRS Real Estate Partners represented Target in the lease negotiations. Brody Farris represented the landlord, Signorelli Co., on an internal basis. The space is under construction, and a tentative opening date has not yet been established.
Katy, Texas — Weitzman has begun leasing Porter Lake Crossing, a 40,130-square-foot shopping center under construction in the western Houston suburb of Katy. Cornerstone Development Group is developing the project, which will consist of three multi-tenant buildings and a 6,000-square-foot pad site. Construction of the first building is expected to be complete next fall.
Lowes Foods Signs 52,000-Square-Foot Lease at Christenbury Village in Concord, North Carolina
Concord, N.C. — Lowes Foods has signed a lease to anchor Christenbury Village, a planned mixed-use development in Concord. Christenbury Investors — an entity affiliated with MPV Properties and Mission Properties — is the developer of the 17-acre project. Lowes Foods will occupy a 52,000-square-foot space within the development, which is set to include two mixed-use buildings featuring approximately 150 multifamily units and about 26,000 square feet of retail space, alongside a 24,000-square-foot medical office building. Rochester Hills, Mich. — Burlington is set to backfill a 31,059-square-foot space formerly occupied by Stein Mart at Winchester Center in Rochester Hills, about 25 miles north of Detroit. RPT Realty owns the shopping center, which is located at the southwest corner of Rochester and Avon roads. Tjader Gerdom, Michael Murphy and Bill McLeod of Gerdom Realty & Investment represented RPT in the lease transaction.
