Long Island City, N.Y. — Planet Fitness has signed an 18,000-square-foot retail lease in Long Island City. The gym, which will be situated on the lower levels of the newly constructed 22-29 Northern Boulevard rental tower, is the company’s first property in Long Island City. Steven Baker and Thomas Galo of Winick Realty represented the landlord, Simon Baron Development, in the lease negotiations. Richard Chera of Crown Acquisitions represented Planet Fitness.

Burlington, N.J. — National Realty & Development Corp. will open three new stores totaling 58,000 square feet at the Liberty Square Center in Burlington, a city located southwest of Trenton. The shopping center is anchored by a Walmart, Marshalls and HomeGoods. Planet Fitness will open a 25,000-square-foot location at the property. Ross Dress for Less will move into a 22,000-square-foot portion of a former Toys ‘R’ Us location. Five Below will occupy the remaining 11,000 square feet of the former Toys ‘R’ Us location.

Longmont, Colo. — NewMark Merrill Mountain States has signed three retailers to leases at Village at the Peaks, a 442,000-square-foot shopping center in Longmont. The three retailers are Burlington, which signed a 35,032-square-foot lease and will open in spring 2020; Bank of America, which signed a 4,725-square-foot lease and will also open in the spring; and Nothing Bundt Cakes, which signed a 2,253-square-foot lease and will move in this fall. Orlando, Fla. — Tavistock Development Co. has signed three leases with fitness studios to occupy space within Pixon, a 200-unit apartment complex with 32,500 square feet of retail space in Lake Nona Town Center. Neighborhood barre, Club Pilates and Rukus Cycling Studios are expected to open by the end of this year. Neighborhood barre will span 1,300 square feet. Columbus, Ohio — Six new retailers have been confirmed as part of the $500 million expansion of Easton Town Center in Columbus. The retailers include Ivan Kane’s Forty Deuce Café & Speakeasy, Arhaus Furniture, Pins Mechanical Co., The Beeline, Forbidden Root Restaurant and Brewery and Crimson Cup Coffee & Tea. Novi, Mich. — Gerdom Realty & Investment has negotiated two leases at Thomasville Centre in Novi. Alchile Mexican Grill & Bar and Pho Mai Vietnamese restaurant are the newest tenants to join the center, which is located on Grand River Avenue. Alchile opened this spring, leasing 5,130 square feet. Much of the spotlight surrounding in-demand tenants at today’s shopping centers is focused on food and beverage and entertainment users.
