Atlanta — Sugarcoat Beauty has signed a lease at Uptown Atlanta, a 47-acre mixed-use development in Atlanta. Scheduled to open in early 2025, the concept will offer manicures, pedicures, facial, lash treatments and other services. Other tenants at the property — which features 120,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, as well as office and community gathering spaces — include Roundhouse Kickboxing, The Commodore, J’ouvert Caribbean Kitchen, El Gordo, 26 Thai Kitchen and Bar and Bene Korean. Rubenstein Partners is the developer and landlord.

Peachtree City, Ga. — Four new tenants have opened at The Avenue Peachtree City, a shopping center located in Peachtree City, roughly 30 miles outside Atlanta. Arhaus Studio, Kendra Scott, Motivate Studios and 9292 Korean BBQ now occupy 7,085; 2,000; 2,000; and 8,015 square feet at the property, respectively. American Eagle Outfitters also recently completed a renovation and has reopened at the center. JLL manages the property.
Atlanta — Jamestown, a real estate development, investment and management firm based in Atlanta, has announced plans to purchase the Atlanta-based subsidiary of North American Properties (NAP), a prominent mixed-use developer and operator based in Cincinnati. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, but NAP’s Atlanta office had $2 billion in assets under management (AUM) as of June 30, 2024. That portfolio includes nine mixed-use destinations across six states on the East Coast. Milton, Ga. — Knuckies Hoagies, a sandwich concept founded in Milton in 2019, has announced a new partnership with Walmart. The brand has executed leases to open restaurants within 14 Walmart stores across six states, including Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Texas. According to a press release issued by the Knuckies Franchise Co., the partnership offers “a built-in customer base and prime locations.”
Marietta, Ga. — Five new tenants have signed leases at The Avenue West Cobb, a shopping center located in Marietta, roughly 20 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta. The Peach Cobbler Factory has opened a 1,400-square-foot restaurant at the property, with restaurant Le’ Zia scheduled to open later this month in a 9,580-square-foot space. Additionally, lifestyle brand J.Jill has signed a 3,840-square-foot lease and is scheduled to open this fall, along with Spirit Halloween, which will occupy 9,980 square feet at the center on a temporary basis. Atlanta — The City of Atlanta, through Atlanta Urban Development (AUD), has unveiled plans for a 1.7 million-square-foot mixed-use redevelopment of the Mall West End. BRP Cos. is the developer. Key elements of the Mall West End redevelopment plan include: approximately 120,000 square feet of retail space, including a grocery store, fitness center, food and beverage, and local boutiques; 893 mixed-income rental units; 152 beds of student housing; a 150-key hotel; 12,000 square feet of medical office space; and community amenities. Alpharetta, Ga. — Metro Atlanta-based Honey Baked Ham Co. has signed a four-unit franchise deal in the Northeast. Locations will include Worcester, Massachusetts, as well as elsewhere in the state and an additional location in Rhode Island. Tom McGwire, great-grandson of the brand’s founder, will own and operate the units, along with his father Tad McGwire and brothers Charlie and Brett McGwire. This will bring Tom McGwire’s Honey Baked Ham portfolio to eight stores, following a previous deal to develop four stores across Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
Sandy Springs, Ga. — Experiential Brands, a company that owns a portfolio of fast-casual restaurant brands, has launched SocialBites Food Hub in Sandy Springs, a suburb of Atlanta. Now open, the venue features multiple food-and-beverage concepts, as well as indoor and outdoor gathering spaces, interactive décor, entertainment programming, a full bar and private event space. Restaurant concepts at the property include The Original Hot Chicken, INKED Tacos, Flametown Burgers and Pinsa Roman Pizza. A second SocialBites is scheduled to open in Woodstock, roughly 30 miles outside Atlanta, later this year.
Atlanta — Immersive technology, media and entertainment company Cosm has announced plans to open an entertainment venue at Centennial Yards, a $5 billion mixed-use development currently underway in downtown Atlanta. Situated within the project’s Sports and Entertainment District, the venue will comprise 70,000 square feet across three levels. Architecture firm Gensler is designing the facility. Dubbed Shared Reality, the venue will feature Cosm’s proprietary technology, including a 12K+ LED dome spanning 87 feet in diameter. Roswell, Ga. — Hardware retail chain Ace Hardware has opened its 5,000th domestic store. Dubbed Fixit Ace Hardware, the store is located in Roswell, roughly 20 miles north of Atlanta. Additionally, the retailer opened its 100th new store of the year in Henderson, Nevada, last month. Ace, which operates more than 5,800 outposts globally, plans to open an additional 200 stores by the end of this year, which marks 100 years of business for the brand.
