Charlottesville, Va. — Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer’s Capital Markets Group has arranged the sale of Rio Roads Shops, a 14,696-square-foot retail strip center located in Charlottesville. Catharine Spangler of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer represented the seller, Rio Road Shops LLC. A private, Richmond-based investment firm acquired the property for $7.2 million as part of a 1031 exchange. The center is fully leased to five tenants, including Verizon, Jimmy Johns, Mattress Firm, SportClips and Vitamin Shoppe.
Middleton, Wis. — Marcus & Millichap has arranged the $3.1 million sale of Cornerstone Mall in Middleton, a northwest suburb of Madison. The 18,733-square-foot retail property is located at 2831 Parmenter St. and was 92 percent leased at the time of sale to tenants such as Hurts Donut Co. and Jet’s Pizza. Anaheim Hills, Calif. — Sunbelt Investment Holdings has purchased a 205,000-square-foot The Home Depot Superstore in Anaheim Hills for an undisclosed price. The flagship store is situated on 18 acres along the north side of Interstate 91 roughly 38 miles outside Los Angeles. The property is the largest Home Depot on the West Coast and the second largest in the nation, according to the buyer. The name of the seller was not released.
St. Matthews, Ky. — Kaden Cos. has acquired Best Buy Center, a 220,000-square-foot retail center located at 5005 Shelbyville Road in St. Matthews, about eight miles from Louisville. The property will be rebranded as Saint Matthews Gateway and is home to tenants including Best Buy, Total Wine & More, Frontgate and DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse.
