F&B Dominates Discussion at ICSC’s Chicago Deal Making

Chicago — The food and beverage industry dominated much of the programming and sessions at this year’s Chicago Deal Making, hosted by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). In fact, the keynote speaker was Fabio Viviani, a celebrity chef and hospitality developer. Publix at Acworth is located at 3507 Baker Road in Acworth, 30 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta. Austin, Texas — CSA Realty Group has negotiated the sale of West Anderson Plaza, a 117,000-square-foot shopping center in north Austin. Tenants at the property include restaurants Bartlett’s, Hopdoddy Burger Bar and Jason’s Deli, as well as specialty retailers Precision Camera, Sun & Ski and Terra Toys. Grady Field and Andrew Creixell of CSA Realty Group represented the sellers in the transaction. Carr Development Inc. represented the buyers. Both sides requested anonymity.

IRC Retail Centers Sells 80,708-Square-Foot Retail Center in Suburban Chicago

Elk Grove Village, Ill. — IRC Retail Centers LLC has sold Mallard Crossing, an 80,708-square-foot retail center in Elk Grove Village. The sales price was not disclosed. Anchor tenants Aldi, Ross Dress for Less and Dollar Tree have all signed long-term leases within the past year. Located on Meacham Road, the property was recently renovated with a new roof, parking lot and façade. Janice Sellis of JLL represented the seller in the transaction. JLL also procured the buyer, a vehicle sponsored by AmCap Management LLC.

Hamilton Beach to Close All 160 Kitchen Collection Stores by End of Year

Glen Allen, Va. — Hamilton Beach Brands Holding Co. has announced that it will close all stores of its retail subsidiary, The Kitchen Collection, by the end of the year. Kitchen Collection employs approximately 800 people at 160 stores across 37 states. Rochester, N.Y. — NNN Acquisition Group LLC, a Texas-based developer, has purchased a 205,000-square-foot retail property leased to Walmart store in Rochester, located approximately 70 miles east of Buffalo. NNN purchased the property for $8.3 million and may redevelop the property following the completion of Walmart’s lease term, which has less than five years remaining. First Washington Realty Acquires Shopping Center in Raleigh for $21 Million

Raleigh, N.C. — First Washington Realty has acquired Harvest Plaza, a 99,479-square-foot retail center in Raleigh. The seller and sales price were not disclosed, although Triangle Business Journal reports Capital Partners and York Properties sold the property for $21 million. Walgreens and Planet Fitness anchor the retail center, which is located at 9650 Strickland Road, 10 miles north of downtown Raleigh.
