Sears to Close 63 Stores in January

Hoffman Estates, Ill. — Sears Holdings Corp. will close 63 stores in late January. Of the store closures, 45 are Kmart stores and 18 are Sears locations.

Liquidation sales at the affected locations will begin as early as Nov. 9. Store associates will receive severance pay and will have the opportunity to apply for open positions at area Kmart or Sears stores. This round of closures brings the total number of shuttered Sears and Kmart locations since January 2017 to 243.
