Smalls Sliders

Atlanta — Cheeseburger slider concept Smalls Sliders has signed a franchise agreement to open five new units in Texas. St. Louis-based entrepreneur Brett Stewart will own and operate the restaurants, which are dubbed “Cans.” The newest locations in the state will include Killeen, Temple and Waco. Stewart will now own and operate a total of 11 units in Texas after signing an initial deal for six units with Smalls Sliders in August 2024. Founded in 2019, Smalls Sliders has a portfolio of more than 350 restaurants currently open or under development.

Manchester, Conn. — Bob’s Discount Furniture has announced plans to open 20 new stores in 2025. Among the 20 stores, six will be located in North Carolina, marking the brand’s entry into the Southeast. Bob’s will also open its first location in Vermont. Brookfield, Wis. — Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming has opened its first store in Wisconsin, which marks the brand’s entry into its 27th state. The company has more than 70 store openings planned for 2025, including locations in Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, North Dakota, Oregon, Utah and Washington. Gilbert, Ariz. — Thompson Thrift has broken ground on The Gilmore, a $225 million mixed-use development located in the Phoenix suburb of Gilbert. The 35-acre project will comprise approximately 200,000 square feet of grocery, restaurant and retail space, 300 luxury apartment homes and a hotel. Chicago — NewMark Merrill Cos. has unveiled plans for a $1.5 million renovation of Bricktown Square Shopping Center, a 292,309-square-foot retail center located in northwest Chicago. Renovations to the center will include exterior improvements, additional signage and wayfinding, as well as updated paint and color schemes. NewMark Merrill will also combine two existing spaces to form a single, larger space that will house a new Skechers store. Baltimore — MCB Real Estate has added regional grocery store chain Streets Market to the tenant roster for its Reservoir Square, a $170 million mixed-use development underway in Baltimore. Streets Market will occupy 12,000 square feet on a 1.5-acre parcel that will also house 8,000 square feet of retail space.
