Stirling Properties will develop a new Walgreens in Metairie.Metairie, La. – Stirling Properties will develop a full-service Walgreens in the New Orleans suburb of Metairie. The new store will be a ground-up relocation of the existing Walgreens location in Barlon Plaza Shopping Center. The larger 14,000-square-foot store will feature a drive-thru window, a full-service pharmacy and more. Construction on the store will begin in July and open the first quarter of 2015. Stirling is providing pre-development services such as lease negotiation, permitting, financing, design, as well as construction and project management. “This project is a culmination of many months of hard work and a strong partnership between Walgreens, the landowners, Stirling Properties, and Jefferson Parish,” Peter Aamodt, Stirling’s vice president of development, says. “This is the way successful development projects should work.”
