Lowell, Ind. — Tractor Supply Co. has opened its 500th Garden Center in Lowell, Indiana. The company began adding Garden Centers to new and existing stores in 2020, with the first opening in Rome, Georgia. Averaging 3,000 to 4,000 square feet, the centers offer additional sales space with a focus on live goods, including fruit trees, herbs, vegetables and season items. Founded more than 85 years ago, Tractor Supply Co.’s portfolio comprises 2,233 stores in 49 states.
Fayetteville, Ark. — An affiliate of Cohen & Steers has acquired a two-property, open-air shopping center complex located in Fayetteville, located in the northwest portion of Arkansas near the Oklahoma and Missouri borders. Totaling 403,000 square feet, the complex comprises the retail centers Spring Creek Centre and Steele Crossing. Tenants at the properties include T.J. Maxx, Ulta Beauty, Best Buy, Old Navy, PetSmart and Kohl’s. The centers also feature corporately owned Walmart, The Home Depot and Target stores. Paris, France — Paris-based retail center owner and operator Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) and TOCA Football have announced a partnership to open multiple eatertainment venues throughout Europe. The first of the new TOCA Socials will open at Westfield London and Westfield CNIT in La Défense in Paris in 2025. The venues will occupy 37,620 and 25,833 square feet, respectively. The partnership will include additional, yet-to-be-announced locations. TOCA Social venues feature immersive soccer-based gaming, as well as food and beverages. Greensboro, N.C. — Tanger has announced an expansion of its partnership with Sephora, which will bring the beauty retailer to five additional Tanger properties this year. Averaging 5,000 square feet, the stores will be located in Charleston, South Carolina; Deer Park, New York; National Harbor, Maryland; Palm Beach, Florida; and Glendale, Arizona. Sephora is currently open at Bridge Street Town Centre in Huntsville, Alabama, which Tanger acquired in late 2023.
Mount Pleasant, S.C. — Trader Joe’s has signed a lease to open a new store at Sweetgrass Corner, a 90,000-square-foot shopping center located in Mount Pleasant, roughly five miles outside downtown Charleston. The grocer will occupy 14,000 square feet at the property, which is owned by Continental Realty Corp. (CRC). Trader Joes, which operates more than 570 stores throughout the country, will be situated within a portion of the space left vacant by the closure of BI-LO in 2019. Norman, Okla. — The Boulder Group has negotiated the $3.7 million sale of a single-tenant retail property located in Norman. CVS/pharmacy occupies the building, which is situated adjacent to a regional hospital. Randy Blankstein and Jimmy Goodman of The Boulder Group represented the California-based buyer in the transaction.
Burlington, Mass. — Atlantic Capital Partners has arranged the sale of Middlesex Marketplace, a 38,243-square-foot shopping center in Burlington, a northern suburb of Boston. Built in 2013, the property was 89 percent leased at the time of sale. Tenants at the center include Smith & Wollensky, Visionworks, Ideal Image and AFC Urgent Care.
