Carlsbad, Calif. — HP Investors and FABRIC have acquired Antique Mall on State Street, a commercial property located in downtown Carlsbad. Bill Ostrie sold the property for an undisclosed price. The team plans to redevelop and rebrand the nearly 70-year-old property as State Street Commons. Located at 2742-2742 State St., the renovated property will provide more than 22,000 square feet of retail and creative office space. Owings Mills, Md. — Giant Food Store has opened a 66,730-square-foot store in Owings Mills, 17 miles northwest of downtown Baltimore. The new store, located at 10210 Mill Run Circle, features Giant’s Pickup service, a full pharmacy and expanded departments. Giant Food locations at 9934 Reisterstown Road and 9730 Groffs Mill Road in Owings Mills closed when the new store opened.

New York City — PUMA has opened an 18,000-square-foot flagship store in Manhattan, the company’s first location of this kind in North America. Customers can use the store’s PUMA x YOU technology to customize clothing and accessories before purchase. Additional in-store technology includes virtual racing and soccer simulators, 3D knitting and screens that display alternate selections and colors of in-store merchandise.

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. — Cronheim Mortgage, a New Jersey-based firm, has arranged a $13.5 million construction loan for the redevelopment of Poughkeepsie Plaza in Upstate New York. Originally constructed in 1958, the 170,966-square-foot shopping center includes three pad sites for a total building area of 175,743 square feet. Current tenants include Home Depot, BJ’s, Hobby Lobby and Best Buy. The loan carries a seven-year term of interest-only payments followed by a 25-year amortization period.

New York City — Whole Foods Market will open a 60,000-square-foot store within 63 Madison Avenue, a 15-story office building in Manhattan. The store will occupy 10,000 square feet on the ground floor of the building and 50,000 square feet on the second floor. The building owner, a partnership between George Comfort & Sons, Jamestown and Loeb Partners Realty, plans to renovate the first and second floors with glass walls and a new lobby. Lincolnwood, Ill. — The RoomPlace, an Illinois-based furniture store, has opened at Lincolnwood Town Center in northern Illinois. The retailer replaces a former Carson’s store. The 84,000-square-foot space incorporates three brands — The RoomPlace, The MattressPlace and RP Outlet. The location marks The RoomPlace’s largest store to date. Washington Prime Group Inc. owns Lincolnwood Town Center. Other retailers at the shopping mall include Kohl’s, Old Navy, Bath & Body Works, Foot Locker, Express and Champs Sports.

Cypress, Texas — Cinemark Holdings will open an eight-screen CUT! by Cinemark movie theater in Cypress, a northwestern suburb of Houston. The theater will feature wall-to-wall screens, enhanced sound systems, a full-service food menu and bar and an outdoor patio with a fireplace and games. Washington Prime Group will develop the theater, with construction scheduled to begin in November and the opening slated for July 2020.

Philadelphia — PMC Property Group, a Philadelphia-based developer, has broken ground on a 65,000-square-foot flagship store for GIANT Food Stores in Philadelphia. Located within the Gensler-designed Riverwalk mixed-use project, the store will offer more than 600 varieties of fresh and local produce, as well as curbside pickup and delivery services. The store is slated to open by fall 2020.

Clifton, N.J. — Filipino grocer FilStop will open a 16,000-square-foot flagship store in Clifton, a western suburb of New York City. The specialized grocery store will also maintain its original 4,000-square-foot location in Jersey City. The store will be located within Clifton Plaza, a 95,000-square-foot retail center anchored by Big Lots, Blink Fitness and Dollar Tree. The opening is slated for Aug. 22.

Atlanta — Delaware North will open Good Game, a 7,500-square-foot dining and entertainment concept that offers Topgolf’s Swing Suite virtual simulator bays. Good Game will house seven bays, accommodating up to eight people in each bay.
