Wegmans to Open 87,500-Square-Foot Grocery Store in Manhattan’s East Village Neighborhood

New York City — Wegmans Food Market has announced plans to open an 87,500-square-foot store at 770 Broadway in Manhattan’s East Village neighborhood. The market, dubbed Wegmans Astor Place, will be located at the base of an office building that Vornado Realty Trust owns. Meta, formerly known as Facebook, occupies the office portion of the property. Atlanta and New York City — Chick-fil-A has announced plans for two new restaurant concepts. Beginning in 2024, the brand will open an elevated drive-thru concept in metro Atlanta as well as a walk-up restaurant in New York City. Both concepts are designed to enhance efficiency and convenience, with plans for the drive-thru restaurant including a kitchen built above the drive-thru lanes and dedicated lanes for mobile orders. Flix Brewhouse Signs 40,000-Square-Foot Lease at The Shops at Broad in Mansfield, Texas

Mansfield, Texas — Flix Brewhouse has signed a 15-year lease to open a 40,000-square-foot theater at The Shops at Broad, a retail center located in Mansfield. Scheduled to open this fall, the venue will feature nine auditoriums and offer in-theater dining service. Sam Kartalis of Younger Partners and John Weber of Weber & Co., who manage the property, negotiated the lease on behalf of the landlord, Trez Capital.

Federal Realty Investment to Begin Third Phase of Redevelopment at Willow Grove Shopping Center in Metro Philadelphia

Willow Grove, Pa. — Federal Realty Investment Trust has announced plans for the third phase of redevelopment at Willow Grove Shopping Center in Willow Grove, roughly 30 miles outside Philadelphia. Phase III will include the addition of a six-story building offering 260 multifamily units and 20,000 square feet of street-level retail space, alongside a structured parking garage. Rocklin, Calif. — Circle K has signed a 3,700-square-foot lease at University Square, a 10-acre mixed-use development currently underway in Rocklin. Upon completion, the convenience store and gas station will be situated on a site featuring more than 20,000 square feet of retail space and 5,000 square feet of space for quick-service restaurants. LRE & Cos. is the developer and landlord, and the development is scheduled for completion in late 2025.

North American Properties, Politan Group to Open New Food Hall at Forum Peachtree Corners in Metro Atlanta

Peachtree Corners, Ga. —North American Properties (NAP) has partnered with Politan Group to open a 10,000-square-foot food hall at The Forum Peachtree Corners, a mixed-use redevelopment in metro Atlanta. Scheduled to open in summer 2024, Politan Row at The Forum marks the second food hall for the partnership, following the opening of Politan Row at Colony Square in Midtown Atlanta two years ago. Bell-Butler is designing the food hall, which will feature space for seven independent food-and-beverage concepts, a bar, private event venue and an outdoor patio fronting the greenspace.

Upon completion, the venue will feature four indoor and six outdoor padel courts; two pickleball courts; a health and wellness center; Pura Vida restaurant; steam room; and cold plunge pool. Situated within SoLé Mia, a 184-acre master-planned community, the club will mark the first permanent location for the brand.

Houston — Six tenants have signed leases at West on West, a 90,000-square-foot mixed-use development currently underway in Houston. Tsujita Artisan Noodle will open a 2,814-square-foot restaurant at the property, and Paris Baguette will occupy 3,150 square feet. Korean dessert concept SomiSomi and boba chain The Alley have also leased 1,637 and 2,436 square feet, respectively. Fort Worth, Texas — The Woodmont Co. has broken ground on Berkshire Corner, a retail center that will total 12,002 square feet in Fort Worth. Upon completion, tenants at the property will include Jersey Mike’s Subs, Blue Mound Nail Spa, Blue Mount Liquor, Mynt Barbershop and ProSmiles Dental. Jake McCoy and Jack Mock negotiated the leases on behalf of Woodmont on an in-house basis. A construction timeline was not disclosed.
