Retail and restaurant concepts including Fan Outfitters, J. Crew, Pvolve and Kura Sushi are now open at the center. IKEA, Sugar Sugar, The Wallpaper Co., DXL and Pella Windows are also scheduled to open at the center before the end of the year. McDonough, Ga. — Halpern Enterprises has completed a 6,486-square-foot, multi-tenant retail strip center located in the southern Atlanta suburb of McDonough. The three-tenant property is part of the 20-acre North McDonough Village mixed-use development. The property includes a 2,486-square-foot Starbucks Coffee with a drive-thru and a 2,000-square-foot dental office, with the remaining 2,000 square feet available for lease. Florence, S.C. — The Morgan Cos. will develop a grocery-anchored shopping center in Florence, dubbed Palmetto Place. Publix has signed a lease for a 47,000-square-foot space to anchor the project. An additional 18,050 square feet of retail space will be available, as well as several outparcels for future retail development. Wes Thurmond and Robey Spratt of Atlantic Retail Properties will serve as the leasing agents for the project. New York City — North Plainfield, New Jersey-based Levin Management Corp. (LMC) has negotiated a 62,000-square-foot lease with ShopRite at Evergreen Plaza on Staten Island. A new ShopRite grocery store will backfill an anchor space that was formerly occupied by SuperFresh. Mannix Family Markets will operate the new store, which is scheduled to open this fall. Mannix Family Markets also operates three additional ShopRite locations in the Graniteville, New Dorp and Charleston neighborhoods. LMC represented the landlord in the lease negotiations. Retailer-owned supermarket cooperative Wakefern Food Corp. is the tenant.
Columbus, Ohio — Five new tenants have signed leases at Easton Gateway, a 650,000-square-foot retail property located in Columbus. Sí Señor, SITKA Gear and SuitShop have already opened at the property, and Carhartt and Bareburger are also scheduled to join the lineup. Other tenants at the center include Whole Foods Market, Costco, Dick’s Sporting Goods, J. Alexander’s Restaurant, Fusion, Chuy’s and The Container Store. Developed in 2014, Easton Gateway is situated within the 1,300-acre Easton Town Center mixed-use development.

West Covina, Calif. — Philippines-based fast food chain Jollibee has launched its first franchising program in the U.S. The quick-service restaurant chain is the flagship brand of Jollibee Foods Corp. (JFC), also known as the Jollibee Group. Jollibee opened its first North American location in 1998 in Daly City, California, and now currently operates 76 stores across 14 states in the U.S., with 28 additional stores in Canada. The current expansion goal is projected for 350 stores in the coming years, with franchise-owned stores making up the majority of its footprint. …
Atlanta — Online retailer Wayfair will open a 150,000-square-foot store in Atlanta. Located within The District at Howell Mill, the Atlanta store will mark Wayfair’s second large-format location — as well as its second physical retail store overall — following its first in Wilmette, Illinois, which opened in May 2024. Fraser Gough and Benton Green of Retail Planning Corp. led lease negotiations in the transaction. JLL Income Property Trust, a division of LaSalle Investment Management, and Atlanta-based Selig Enterprises, own the property.
Honolulu — Ala Moana Center, a 2.4-million-square-foot shopping center located in Honolulu, has announced the expansion of 10 new tenants this year. A mix of restaurant and retail businesses — Amaterasu; Coconut Ave; Baskin Robbins; Eve Ala Moana; fanfancy+; Lovisa; NOHO HOME; Skinceuticals Skin Lab; and ZEGNA — have already opened at the property.
