Puttshack

Houston — Puttshack, an entertainment concept that combines tech-infused minigolf with food and beverage offerings, will open a new 26,000-square-foot venue at The Shops at Houston Center in the city’s downtown area. Puttshack recently opened its first venue in Atlanta and has plans to open additional facilities in Chicago, Miami, Boston and Nashville. The opening of the Houston facility is slated for late 2022. Brookfield Properties owns The Shops at Houston Center in partnership with Spear Street Capital.

Janss Marketplace

Thousand Oaks, Calif. — Five Below is set to open a new location at Janss Marketplace, a 458,000-square-foot shopping center located in Thousand Oaks. Construction on the store began this month and opening is targeted for October of this year. NewMark Merrill brokered the leasing transaction. Janss Marketplace is also home to tenants including ALDI Grocers, Regal Cinemas, DEFY Extreme Air Sports, Old Navy, Starbucks Coffee, Buca di Beppo and Gold’s Gym.

Chicago — Wilson Sporting Goods Co. has opened its first-ever retail location in its hometown of Chicago. Wilson plans to open additional flagship stores in New York, Los Angeles, Beijing and Shanghai in the coming months. The Chicago store opened in July 2021. The new 2,247-square-foot store is located at 932 N. Rush St. in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood and will offer a curated assortment of sporting goods across many sport categories such as tennis, baseball, football, basketball and golf, as well as Wilson’s new athletic-lifestyle sportswear collection.

Cary, N.C. — Hines and Columbia Development have signed four new tenants at Fenton, a 69-acre mixed-use project currently under construction in Cary. Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Athleta and Von Kekel Aveda Lifestyle Salon Spa are set to open in April 2022. Williams Sonoma will occupy a 5,504-square-foot space; Pottery Barn is set to open a 13,910-square-foot store; and Athleta will occupy a 3,825-square-foot space. Toms River, N.J. — R.J. Brunelli & Co. LLC has negotiated leases with Planet Fitness and Wingstop at Toms River Shopping Center, a 253,000-square-foot property located in Toms River. Both tenants are expected to open during the third quarter of 2021. Miami — Four restaurants have signed leases at Miami Worldcenter, the $4 billion, 27-acre mixed-use development downtown. The four restaurants are Chicago-based steakhouse Maple & Ash; Etta, a neighborhood restaurant centered around a wood-fired hearth; Laurel Brasserie and El Vecino, both concepts by Miami chef Michael Beltran.
