Liberty, Mo. — Block & Co. Inc. Realtors has acquired a 2,685-square-foot property occupied by Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Liberty. The purchase price was undisclosed. The net-leased building is located at 600 S. 291 Highway, 15 miles northeast of downtown Kansas City. Block & Co. will serve as the property manager. David Block of Block & Co. internally represented the company in the purchase.

St. Louis — Midwest Retail Properties has rebranded as MRP Capital Group. The St. Louis-based company, founded in 2013, is no longer solely focused on the Midwest region. The private equity real estate firm owns and manages Walmart-anchored shopping centers in secondary and tertiary locations nationwide. MRP’s current portfolio is comprised of more than 1 million square feet of retail space across 15 states.

St. Peters, Mo. — Pappy’s Smokehouse is the latest business to join the tenant roster at The Shoppes at Mid Rivers in the suburban St. Louis community of St. Peters. The 2,800-square-foot restaurant is expected to open by the end of October. This is the second location for Pappy’s, which serves signature dry-rubbed baby back ribs. GBT Realty Corp. owns The Shoppes at Mid Rivers, which opened in 2018 and is home to a mix of retailers such as Academy Sports, HomeGoods, Ulta, Marshalls and Outback Steakhouse.

The grocery-anchored retail center is situated east of Prospect Avenue in Kansas City. CBKC established Blue Parkway Grocers LLC as a for-profit entity to operate the store. Fenton, Mo. — JLL has arranged the sale of Gravois Place in Fenton, about 20 miles southwest of downtown St. Louis, for an undisclosed price. The 86,931-square-foot retail center is fully leased and anchored by Gold’s Gym. Situated at 635 Gravois Road, the property is also home to SkyZone Trampoline Park and St. Vincent DePaul. Aaron Johnson, Chris Murphy, Ross Crawford and Danny Kaufman of JLL marketed the property on behalf of the seller, RBR Real Estate Holdings LLC. Chesterfield, Mo. — NorthMarq has arranged a $12 million loan for the refinancing of Hilltown Village Center in Chesterfield, a western suburb of St. Louis. Anchored by Schnucks grocery store, the 141,889-square-foot retail center is located at 101 Hilltown Village Center. Jeff Chaney of NorthMarq arranged the 15-year, fixed-rate loan on behalf of the borrower, RIJO Inc. A life insurance company provided the loan, which is amortized over 25 years.

Belton, Mo. — Quantum Real Estate Advisors Inc. has brokered the $5.4 million sale of a 55,000-square-foot property occupied by Hobby Lobby in Belton, about 20 miles south of Kansas City. The single-tenant building is located at 520 E. Markey Parkway. Hobby Lobby has approximately 12 years remaining on its lease. Dan Waszak and Zack Hilgendorf of Quantum represented the seller, a Kansas City-based developer. A California-based investment fund purchased the asset.

Kansas City, Mo. — Linwood Investors LLC has broken ground on its $8 million redevelopment of Linwood Square, a blighted retail strip center in the Linwood-Prospect corridor on Kansas City’s east side. The project complements the redevelopment of the Linwood Shopping Center, which the company completed in 2017. Linwood Square is a 55,000-square-foot property originally built in 1992.
