Plano, Texas — The District, a chef-driven dining area, has opened at The Shops at Willow Bend in Plano.
The space is home to restaurants including Whistle Britches, offering southern comfort food from James Beard Foundation-nominated chef Omar Flores; Mexican Bar Co. from James Beard-featured chef Patricio Sandoval; Knife, a steakhouse from James Beard-nominated chef and two-time Top Chef contestant John Tesar; and Terra Mediterranean. The center is currently undergoing $125 million in renovations, which include the construction of a new Equinox fitness center; the addition of a Class A office building; a full interior renovation; and the addition of exterior amenities including enhanced lighting, fountains, comfortable soft seating and a fire pit.
