Woodland Hills, Calif. — NewMark Merrill Cos. has launched Waves of Kindness, a program to aid communities during the COVID-19 crisis.

NewMark Merrill began the program earlier this month, working with its grocery partners to give over $14,000 in groceries to more than 380 families. Customers were given $50 vouchers as they checked out.

“While the retail industry is experiencing its challenges, it is our communities that need our help and support first and foremost during this crisis,” said Sandy Sigal, NewMark Merrill Chief Executive Officer. “We will continue to implement strategies to help our communities during this challenging time.”

NewMark Merrill will continue to grow our Wave of Kindness program with future efforts in the works to feed medical workers and first responders, and provide kits to the unsheltered.

The initial participating stores were Sam’s Club at Village at the Peaks in Longmont, Colorado; Jewel at Stony Island in Chicago; 99Ranch Market at Southgate Plaza in Sacramento, California; Grocery Outlet at Crenshaw Imperial Plaza in Inglewood, California; Grocery Outlet at El Cajon Town & Country in El Cajon, California; Grocery Outlet at Norwalk Town Square in Norwalk, California; and Sprouts Farmers Market at Mission Marketplace in Oceanside, California.
