BJ’s Wholesale Club to Open Five New Stores in the Southeast and Indiana

Marlborough, Mass. — BJ’s Wholesale Club, a Massachusetts-based operator of member retail warehouse locations, plans to open five new clubs in the Southeast and Indiana this fiscal year, which ends Feb. 1, 2025. The new clubs will be located in Maryville, Tennessee, a suburb of Knoxville; Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Palm Coast and West Palm Beach in South Florida; and Carmel, Indiana, a suburb of Indianapolis. Boulder Group Arranges $9.6 Million Sale of Best Buy-Occupied Property in Indiana

Mishawaka, Ind. — The Boulder Group has arranged the $9.6 million sale of a single-tenant retail property located in Mishawaka. Best Buy occupies the 50,327-square-foot building on a net lease. Nearby tenants include Target, Apple, Macy’s, Menards, Ross Dress for Less, Walmart, Sam’s Club, The Home Depot, Aldi, Meijer and Costco. Randy Blankstein and Jimmy Goodman of Boulder represented the seller, a West Coast-based partnership.

Nordstrom to Open 26 New Nordstrom Rack Stores

Seattle — Seattle-based retailer Nordstrom has announced plan to open 26 new Nordstrom Rack stores. Openings are scheduled to begin this spring and continue through spring 2025. The sites of the new stores include locations in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio and Texas.

Big V Acquires 232,284-Square-Foot Retail Center in Indianapolis Suburb

Carmel, Ind. — Big V Property Group, with partner Equity Street Capital, has acquired Merchants’ Square, a 232,284-square-foot retail center located in the Indianapolis suburb of Carmel. Tenants at the property include Planet Fitness, Flix Brewhouse, Cost Plus World Market, Petco and Dollar Tree. This marks Big V’s first acquisition in the Indianapolis market.

Avison Young Acquires Madison Marquette Retail Platform, 6.1 Million-Square-Foot Portfolio

Toronto, Canada and Washington, D.C. — Avison Young has entered into an agreement to acquire Madison Marquette’s retail platform for an undisclosed price. The acquisition will include the Washington, D.C.-based firm’s retail property management, marketing and leasing services throughout the U.S.; and a portfolio comprising more than 6.1 million square feet of properties managed and leased by Madison Marquette. Plainfield, Ind. — Axe-throwing entertainment concept LumberjAXE has signed a 5,013-square-foot lease at The Shops at Perry Crossing, a retail center located in Plainfield, roughly 20 miles outside Indianapolis. Upon completion, the venue will feature 11 total axe-throwing lanes, a children’s target, VIP room, pool table, digital dart boards and touch tunes. JLL manages the property.

Scheduled to open this month, Theo’s marks the third food-and-beverage concept by Cunningham Restaurant Group at the property, joining Bru Burger Bar and Stone Creek Dining Co. Chicken N Pickle to Open Seven New Locations

Kansas City, Mo. — Kansas City-based Chicken N Pickle has announced plans to open seven new locations by the first quarter of 2025. Plans include locations in St. Charles, Missouri; Allen, Texas; Fishers, Indiana; Henderson, Nevada; Webster, Texas; Thornton, Colorado; and Parker, Colorado. Chicken N Pickle outposts typically comprise 32,000 square feet and feature a restaurant, sports bar, pickleball courts and yard games. The new openings will nearly double the brand’s footprint, which currently includes eight locations.

IPA Facilitates Sale of Marwood Plaza Shopping Center in Indianapolis

Indianapolis — Institutional Property Advisors (IPA), a division of Marcus & Millichap, has facilitated the sale of Marwood Plaza in Indianapolis. The Kroger-anchored shopping center totals 107,080 square feet. The property was originally developed in 1972 and completely refurbished in 2021. Kroger occupies 42 percent of the property’s gross leasable area. Bill Rose, Erin Patton, Scott Wiles and Craig Fuller of IPA represented the seller, Citivest Commercial, and procured the buyer, Core Marwood Plaza LLC.
