The Colony, Texas — TOCA Football and Major League Soccer (MLS) have announced a partnership, with plans to open the first TOCA Social venue in the U.S. in The Colony, a city roughly 30 miles outside Dallas. Situated within the Grandscape mixed-use development, TOCA Social Dallas will feature soccer-based immersive entertainment, as well as food-and-beverage options. The venue is scheduled to open next summer, and TOCA plans to expand with additional TOCA Social venues in other U.S. cities.

Bossier City, La. — The Cordish Cos. has topped off construction of its Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana, a $270 million hospitality and gaming entertainment complex located in Bossier City. Chicago — Bally’s Corp. (NYSE: BALY) has released an updated permanent site plan for its $1.7 billion casino project in Chicago, a redevelopment of the former Chicago Tribune printing plant that will now be developed in a single phase. The property is located at 777 W. Chicago Ave. in the city’s River West neighborhood. El Paso, Texas — The El Paso City Council has approved a proposal to develop an $80 million concert venue and has formed a public-private partnership with the operator, hospitality firm Venu (formerly known as Notes Live). The project will span 17 acres of city-owned land and will anchor the Cohen Entertainment District on the city’s northeast side. Dubbed Sunset Amphitheater, the venue will feature a seating capacity of 12,500. McKinney, Texas — The Picklr has opened a 28,016-square-foot venue in the northern Dallas suburb of McKinney. Situated within Eldorado Plaza, the facility will feature nine full-size pickleball courts and one warm-up court. Whitestone REIT owns the property, which is anchored by Trader Joes. Other tenants at the center include Starbucks Coffee, Hollywood Feed and Christina’s Mexican Restaurant.

Dallas — Netflix will open an entertainment venue within an anchor space at Galleria Dallas, a 1.9. million-square-foot shopping center in Dallas. Dubbed Netflix House, the establishment will feature immersive experiences, retail and food-and-beverage offerings. Construction is currently underway on two floors of the property to house the venue, which is scheduled to open in fall 2025. According to a statement on the Netflix company website, an additional Netflix House will open in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, with both venues encompassing more than 100,000 square feet. Culver City, Calif. and Austin, Texas — Sony Pictures Entertainment has acquired theater chain Alamo Drafthouse Cinema from Altamont Capital Partners, Fortress Investment Group and founder Tim League for an undisclosed price.  Alamo Drafthouse was founded in 1997 in Austin, and has grown from a single mom-and-pop location to 35 cinemas across 25 metropolitan areas. Paris, France — Paris-based retail center owner and operator Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) and TOCA Football have announced a partnership to open multiple eatertainment venues throughout Europe. The first of the new TOCA Socials will open at Westfield London and Westfield CNIT in La Défense in Paris in 2025. The venues will occupy 37,620 and 25,833 square feet, respectively. The partnership will include additional, yet-to-be-announced locations. TOCA Social venues feature immersive soccer-based gaming, as well as food and beverages. In London, the brand currently operates at The O2.

Chesapeake, Va. — Dollar Tree Inc. has acquired designation rights for 170 leases of 99 Cents Only Stores, following the latter’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. 99 Cents Only Stores filed for bankruptcy in April and is disposing of its assets — including inventory, owned real estate and store leases — as part of the process.
