Chicago — The owners of the NBA’s Chicago Bulls and NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks have unveiled plans for the transformation of the area around their shared venue, the United Center. The initiative is known as The 1901 Project, and development costs are estimated at $7 billion. Michael Reinsdorf, CEO of the Bulls and son of owner Jerry Reinsdorf, formally announced the project on Tuesday, July 23. New York City — State of Play Hospitality, an entertainment retail operator, has signed a lease at 31 Union Square West in New York City, with plans to open a Flight Club venue. Spanning 10,700 square feet on the ground floor and basement of the property, the facility will offer darts-focused games with food-and-beverage options. Scheduled to open in 2025, this marks the ninth North America location for the brand. Blue Water Grill restaurant previously occupied the space.

Atlanta — Immersive technology, media and entertainment company Cosm has announced plans to open an entertainment venue at Centennial Yards, a $5 billion mixed-use development currently underway in downtown Atlanta.  Situated within the project’s Sports and Entertainment District, the venue will comprise 70,000 square feet across three levels. Architecture firm Gensler is designing the facility.  Dubbed Shared Reality, the venue will feature Cosm’s proprietary technology, including a 12K+ LED dome spanning 87 feet in diameter. The Colony, Texas — TOCA Football and Major League Soccer (MLS) have announced a partnership, with plans to open the first TOCA Social venue in the U.S. in The Colony, a city roughly 30 miles outside Dallas. Situated within the Grandscape mixed-use development, TOCA Social Dallas will feature soccer-based immersive entertainment, as well as food-and-beverage options. The venue is scheduled to open next summer, and TOCA plans to expand with additional TOCA Social venues in other U.S. cities.

Bossier City, La. — The Cordish Cos. has topped off construction of its Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana, a $270 million hospitality and gaming entertainment complex located in Bossier City. (NYSE: BALY) has released an updated permanent site plan for its $1.7 billion casino project in Chicago, a redevelopment of the former Chicago Tribune printing plant that will now be developed in a single phase. El Paso, Texas — The El Paso City Council has approved a proposal to develop an $80 million concert venue and has formed a public-private partnership with the operator, hospitality firm Venu (formerly known as Notes Live). The project will span 17 acres of city-owned land and will anchor the Cohen Entertainment District on the city’s northeast side. Dubbed Sunset Amphitheater, the venue will feature a seating capacity of 12,500. McKinney, Texas — The Picklr has opened a 28,016-square-foot venue in the northern Dallas suburb of McKinney. Situated within Eldorado Plaza, the facility will feature nine full-size pickleball courts and one warm-up court. Whitestone REIT owns the property, which is anchored by Trader Joes. Other tenants at the center include Starbucks Coffee, Hollywood Feed and Christina’s Mexican Restaurant.

Dallas — Netflix will open an entertainment venue within an anchor space at Galleria Dallas, a 1.9. million-square-foot shopping center in Dallas. Dubbed Netflix House, the establishment will feature immersive experiences, retail and food-and-beverage offerings. Construction is currently underway on two floors of the property to house the venue, which is scheduled to open in fall 2025.
