Ellijay, Ga. — Halpern Enterprises has signed two new leases totaling 26,450 square feet at Old Orchard Square, a 131,200-square-foot shopping center located in Ellijay. Halpern has owned the property, which is anchored by a 68,000-square-foot Ingles, since 1994. Marshalls will replace Black Bear Antiques in an 18,000-square-foot space, and Five Below will occupy 8,450 square feet at the center. Other tenants include BenchMark Physical Therapy, Okinawa Restaurant, UPS, Pizza King and Farmer’s Home Furniture.

Dallas — Two new tenants have signed leases at Alpha Plaza, a 76,229-square-foot retail center located in Dallas. Sherlock’s Escape Rooms and The Aussie Grind Provisions will occupy 4,800 and 2,177 square feet, respectively. Melanie Hughes and Erik Blais of Bradford Commercial Real Estate Services, a partner of CORFAC International, arranged the leases on behalf of the landlord, an entity doing business as Kennington Alpha Plaza LLC.
Pontiac, Mich. — Farbman Group has arranged a 4,000-square-foot lease at Oakland Pointe Plaza in Pontiac, roughly 30 miles outside Detroit. Franchisees Leslie and Walter Czarnecki have opened a LaundroLab laundromat at the property, featuring high-tech washers and dryers, attendant service, a child playroom and vending machine. The franchisees plan to open laundromats in four additional locations. Carrie Weiss of NAI Farbman represented LaundroLab in the lease negotiations.
Jericho, N.Y. — Kimco Realty has signed leases totaling 50,133 square feet with 15 new tenants at 12 of its shopping centers located throughout the Bay Area in California. Round Table Pizza and The Best Sandwiches now occupy 1,425 and 1,376 square feet, respectively, at Stevens Creek Central in San Jose. Viewpoint Interiors has opened a 1,100-square-foot store at Lakewood Village in Windsor, and Wingstop has opened a 1,560-square restaurant at Fulton Marketplace in Santa Rosa. Mansfield, Texas — Five restaurants have signed new leases at The Shops at Broad, a retail center located in Mansfield. Portillo’s, Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Boomer Jack’s Grill and Chuy’s are scheduled to open next year at the property. Sam Kartalis of Younger Partners and John R. Weber of Weber & Co. arranged the leases on behalf of the landlord, Trez Capital.
Montgomery, Ill. — Starbucks Coffee and Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant will join Ogden Hill Shopping Center in Montgomery, roughly 45 miles east of Chicago. Both businesses are currently underway on construction and scheduled to open next year. Inland National Development Co. (INDC) sold the sites, as well as developed the site to be occupied by Cooper’s Hawk on behalf of the business. San Antonio, Texas — Texas-based fast-casual chain Whataburger has announced plans to expand into South Carolina. Beginning in summer 2024, the brand will open restaurants in Greenville, Mauldin, Irmo, Spartanburg, Anderson, Boiling Springs, Lexington, Duncan and Easley. Current plans include a total of 10 restaurants.
Hilton Head, S.C. — TJX brand Homesense has signed a 29,000-square-foot lease to anchor Sea Turtle Marketplace in Hilton Head. Scheduled to open in spring 2024, the store will be the first for the brand in South Carolina.
